Stand-up show by comedian Celya AB, about breaking free from shame, recommended for ages 16 and over.
Celya AB brings her new tour show, We Must Stop Meeting Like This, to Norwich Theatre Playhouse on Friday 30 October. It's a stand-up set built on original jokes and sharp observations, and it arrives in Norwich after sold-out runs across the UK, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and Soho Theatre.
If you haven't come across her yet, AB is an acclaimed stand-up and a writer for Saturday Night Live UK. She's appeared on Live At The Apollo, the Off Menu podcast, and Comedy Central Live, so she's well-versed in the big-stage format. The British Comedy Guide described her jokes as "exceptional, not to mention impressively original," which gives you a fair idea of where the set sits.
As for the show itself, she describes it as being about breaking free from shame. It's a full hour and 45 minutes including an interval, so there's plenty of room for the material to breathe rather than rushing through a tight half-hour. It's recommended for ages 16 and over.
