Phil Mealey, star of the sitcom Early Doors, brings his new live show to the Norwich Theatre Royal, mixing laughter, nostalgia and behind-the-scenes stories.
Phil Mealey brings his new live show, Early Doors – Behind the Bar and Beyond, to Norwich Theatre Royal on Sunday 25 April 2027. Mealey was the co-creator and star of the sitcom Early Doors, and this is his first time taking the world of the show to the stage.
The evening is built around The Grapes, the pub that served as the series' setting. Mealey mixes laughter and nostalgia with behind-the-scenes stories, favourite clips, and unseen moments from the show. He also performs songs from the series live, so you'll hear the music as well as the stories. It's a celebration of the characters, friendships, and everyday humour that turned the show into a cult favourite, and it gives a rare look at how it was put together and at the moments that never made it to screen.
Mealey himself is a BAFTA-winning writer and performer, and he's the one leading the whole thing. If you've spent time with Early Doors over the years, this is a chance to see it from the inside. The show is recommended for ages 16 and over.
