Guided artisan bread-making session led by the venue's master baker to make up to four Christmas loaves, from a winter sourdough to festive brioche and Stollen mini breads.
Blackfriars Restaurant and Banquet Hall is hosting a festive bread-making workshop on Saturday 28 November, running from 09:30 to 16:30. The session is led by the venue's master baker, who takes you through the basics of making Christmas loaves from nothing more than flour, water, yeast and salt. Over the course of the day, you'll craft up to four loaves—both savoury and sweet—and take them home freshly baked, with the idea of making shop-bought bread a thing of the past.
The repertoire leans on seasonal specialties. You'll make a Winter Enriched Sourdough, a festive Savoury Brioche, a Christmas Eve Flatbread with warming spices and seeds, and Stollen Mini Breads. Alongside those, there are demonstrations, including a Rye Bread made with winter ale from Blackfriars' own brewery. It's a full day of getting your hands in the dough, from the first mix through to the final bake, and you'll leave with a good spread of loaves to see you through the run-up to Christmas.

It's a proper one-day course, so you'll want to clear your Saturday. You'll be working in the banquet hall at Blackfriars, on Friars Street in the city centre, from half-past nine in the morning until half-past four in the afternoon. The cost is ÂŁ175, and you'll walk away with up to four loaves of your own making.
