Festive family science workshop show where children meet Santa, with live Christmas experiments and the 360° dome show 'What Santa Sees'.
The Santa Experience: Operation Christmas Eve returns to the Life Science Centre this winter, running from Saturday 21 November to Wednesday 23 December, with sessions starting at 10:00am daily. It's a ticketed festive outing aimed especially at children aged 3 to 10, and it's set up as a science-centre twist on a traditional visit to Father Christmas.
The experience puts the kids in a corner of the North Pole, where they join Santa's little helpers as the elves race against time to get everything ready for Christmas Eve. The workshop show is built around live festive science experiments, and the visit eventually leads to meeting Santa himself, where each child collects a special gift and a Christmas Eve bag containing reindeer food, hot chocolate mix and a sweet treat. It's a sensory-friendly setup, so it's designed to be accessible for children who might find a typical grotto a bit much.
Beyond the workshop, the ticket includes What Santa Sees, an award-winning immersive 360° full-dome show created by the Life team that journeys through the Christmas night sky. And because it's at Life, the ticket also gives you free access to the rest of the science centre on the day, including The Great Dinosaur Escape, so you can make a full day of it rather than just popping in for the Santa visit.
