Swedish glam and sleaze metal band Crashdïet play a 18+ standing show at Anarchy Brew Co.
Crashdïet play Anarchy Brew Co on Friday 6 November, bringing their brand of Swedish glam rock to Newcastle. The line-up is John Elliot on lead vocals, Martin Sweet on guitar, Chris Young on bass and Michael Sweet on drums. It's a standing-only night, and the doors open at 19:00.
Crashdïet formed in Sweden back in 2000, and they've spent the years since carving out a space in glam and sleaze metal. Their sound mixes the arena rock swagger of the 80s — Guns N' Roses, Kiss and Skid Row — with a raw punk attitude. Their debut album, Rest in Sleaze, came out in 2005 and earned critical acclaim, and they've released six studio albums since then, including Automaton.
It hasn't always been a straight run. After frontman Dave Lepard died in 2006, the remaining members kept the project going, bringing in new vocalists and collaborating with rock names like Mötley Crüe's Mick Mars and Steel Panther's Michael Starr. Original member Martin Sweet has remained the constant throughout, and he's still anchoring the line-up today.
