Newcastle City Library is hosting a friendship bracelet making workshop on Tuesday 6 October, from 10:30 to 11:30am. It's a one-hour session where kids make their own colourful friendship bracelets using beads and threads — something they can wear themselves or give to a mate.
The workshop is part of Newcastle Libraries' School Holidays programme, a run of hands-on, family-friendly sessions that goes beyond just this one. Over the break, the libraries are putting on a few different activities: LEGO challenges, flower craft, air-dry clay mini-bugs, and intergenerational craft afternoons. If you've got kids who like to make things, it's worth looking at the whole list rather than just picking one.
On the practical side, bookings are essential, and tickets are only for the children attending. If your child is under 12, you'll need to stay and help them throughout the session, so keep that in mind when you're planning your morning. There are also additional booking and processing fees on top of the ticket price.
