Community day with local food, market stalls, live music, children's activities and family-friendly entertainment.
Mayfield Day returns to Dangar Park on Saturday 24 October, from 10am to 3pm. It's a free community event run by the Mayfield Business Improvement Association in partnership with the City of Newcastle, and this year marks its fifth annual edition. The day turns the park into an open-air hub of local business and family life, with food and beverage vendors, business pop-ups, and market stalls alongside activities for children.
The programme leans heavily into the local. There's live music and cultural performances throughout the day, and for the kids, a sensory play workshop by Wonder and Wild, free face painting, and various workshops. Local businesses and schools also have their own showcases, so it's as much about seeing what's happening in the neighbourhood as it is about the entertainment. The whole thing is built as a showcase for small businesses and local talent, and as a space where residents and visitors can come together around what makes Mayfield special.
