A popular harbour cruise aboard the MV Calmer featuring a high tea menu, complimentary bubbles, and a licensed bar, suitable for birthdays and family celebrations.
High Tea on the Harbour is back on the water on Saturday 7 November, running from 12:00pm to 2:30pm. It's one of Newcastle's most popular harbour events, and this time it's aboard the MV Calmer, a three-level super-yacht that departs from the Queens Wharf Ferry Terminal on Wharf Road. The cruise takes you through Newcastle Harbour, and with three decks to move between, you'll find water views and photo opportunities at almost every turn.
The high tea itself is a set menu that mixes sweet and savoury items, so there's a bit of both to work through over the afternoon. A complimentary glass of bubbles greets you when you arrive, and there's a fully licensed bar on board if you want more to drink throughout the trip. Just keep in mind there's no BYO food or drink allowed.
The organisers pitch it as a good fit for birthdays, girls' days out, hens parties, baby showers and family celebrations, so it's the kind of thing that works for a group. Smart casual dress is recommended, and they ask for small chunky heels only. It's also worth knowing that wheelchairs and mobility aids can't be accommodated on board.
