Australia's dedicated search marketing conference featuring a single-track day of talks, networking and an after-party.
Edge of Search returns to Newcastle City Hall on Friday 4 September, the city's only search marketing conference. It's run by Firewire Digital co-founder Brogan Renshaw, who positions it as Australia's dedicated search event. The whole day runs on a single track, meaning everyone's in the same room for the same talks rather than splitting up between different sessions.
That single-track format is a big part of the day: morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea are built in, and it wraps up with a networking after-party and a swag bag for everyone who attends. The 2026 edition was an NSW State Nominee for the Oztix Best Small Regional Event at the Australian Event Awards 2026, and the venue is a heritage-listed landmark in the heart of the city, where the conference also ran in 2024 and 2025.
The programme is practitioner-led, with speakers hand-picked from working professionals across SEO, content, UX, web development, brand and AI. Nine practitioners will present across those fields, including keynotes by Despina G., founder of Vivid Fish Agency and Ahrefs SEO Strategist. Renshaw describes the event as an effort to break down the silos between search and digital marketing, working from the belief that the most profitable campaigns are built at the intersections of channels rather than inside one.
