Australian Crawl reunites with original members for the Red Hot Summer Tour, headlining a day of Australian rock at Roche Estate.
Australian Crawl are back at Roche Estate in the Hunter Valley on Saturday 31 October, as part of the Red Hot Summer Tour. It's a big one: the tour bills this as the first time in 40 years that Australian Crawl will share a stage with Men At Work, and the two are rounded out by an all-star Australian line-up. The rest of the day features Birds of Tokyo, Vika & Linda, Eskimo Joe, Boom Crash Opera and Ella Hooper.
For those who know the history, the Crawl reunion has a bit of a story to it. The band formed in 1978 and split in 1986 after a string of chart hits; they're back here with original members James Reyne, Simon Binks and David Reyne, plus John Watson, who played with the group from 1983 to 1986. Men At Work formed in Melbourne in mid-1979 and became a Grammy-winning, multi-platinum global act of the early 80s before the original line-up fell apart by 1985; Colin Hay has toured as a solo artist and, since 2019, under the Men At Work name. Seeing them on the same bill is the main draw here.
It's an outdoor day, and the venue is strictly 18+. Roche Estate is on the corner of Broke and McDonalds Roads in Pokolbin, so you'll want to plan your trip into the Hunter Valley. The venue advises bringing a camp chair rather than a picnic rug, which makes sense for a full day of music.
