A family-friendly concert for children featuring games, movement and stories set to classic rock and roll, with costumes encouraged.
The Rock & Roll Playhouse brings its Halloween Spectacular for Kids to The Basement East on Saturday, October 31, 2026. It's a family concert that falls right on Halloween, so the timing is built into the whole thing.
If you haven't come across it before, The Rock & Roll Playhouse is a family concert series that plays historic music venues across the country. They pitch it as an early introduction to live music and rock and roll for kids, and the format is designed for a young audience: the volume is turned down for little ears, and the show shares the music of the artists it covers without being associated with or endorsed by them. The set is built around the classic-rock canon, with games, movement, and stories woven in, so kids are encouraged to move, play, and sing along rather than sit still.

Since it's a Halloween show, costumes are encouraged. All children must be accompanied by a parent or adult caregiver, and if you're worried about the noise, hearing protection earmuffs are available for purchase at the door. The show runs at 11:30 AM, with doors opening at 10:30 AM, so it's a late-morning thing that leaves the rest of your Halloween day open. Children under 10 are free, though adults still pay. You'll find it at The Basement East, 917 Woodland Street, Nashville, TN 37206.
