28th annual free Halloween event with games, crafts, stories and prizes for children of all ages.
The Tennessee State Museum is bringing back the Haunted Museum Storytelling Festival on Saturday, October 24, from 10 AM to 2:30 PM. It's a free event for kids of all ages, and this year marks the 28th edition. The festival first launched in the fall of 1998, and over nearly three decades it's grown into one of the museum's most anticipated days of the year.
Throughout the day, the galleries are dressed in Halloween dΓ©cor, and the schedule is built around games, crafts, stories and prizes. The main draw is the storytelling: children in costume gather to hear spooky tales drawn from Tennessee's own past, so the ghosts and legends they'll hear come from the state's own history rather than just general folklore. It's run as a free, fun and safe Halloween event for children of all ages, which makes it a good bet if you're looking for something to do with the kids that doesn't cost anything.

Since it runs from 10 AM to 2:30 PM, it's a daytime thing rather than a night out, and the games and crafts run alongside the storytelling, so there's more to do than just sit and listen. The museum describes it as a free, fun and safe Halloween event for children of all ages. It's free to attend, and it runs from 10 AM to 2:30 PM on Saturday, October 24, at the Tennessee State Museum in Nashville.
