A playful, interactive theatrical experience for young children that explores classic nursery rhymes and encourages teamwork.
Mother Goose is running at Nashville Children's Theatre on Middleton Street through October 25, a production that takes the nursery rhymes we all grew up with and puts them on stage for the youngest members of the house. Janet Stanford is behind the program, and it's built around Mother Goose taking her youngest learners through a silly, laugh-out-loud version of her typical day. Along the way, she works through some of her most beloved nursery rhymes, inviting the little ones to join in with each classic story as it comes up. The whole thing is tied together by a simple point: the best way to get things done is to do them together.
It's part of the Snuggery Series at Nashville Children's Theatre, a program dedicated to early childhood development. The series is aimed at children aged 0 to 5, with interactive and immersive theatrical experiences designed to support cognitive, social, and emotional growth. So, if you've got a toddler or a preschooler, this is exactly the kind of thing they're forβthe kind of show where the kids are encouraged to be part of the action rather than just sitting still in the dark.
