Wishing Chair Productions brings its storytime trio to the Children's Theater of the downtown Nashville Public Library, where Library Pete, Dr. Ev and Mr. B sing, juggle and read books for families.
Wishing Chair Productions is bringing its storytime trio to the Nashville Public Library on Tuesday, October 27. The show runs in the Children's Theater at the downtown branch, 615 Church St., and it's built around three people—Library Pete, Dr. Ev and Mr. B—who take over the stage for a morning of singing, juggling and reading books for families. It's a storytime that doesn't just stick to the pages; the music and the juggling are woven right into the session, so it's as much a performance as it is a reading.
That trio—Library Pete, Dr. Ev and Mr. B—is the core of Wishing Chair Productions, and they're the ones who handle the singing, the juggling and the reading. The whole thing is aimed at families, with the books and the performance working together rather than one following the other. If you've got little ones who get restless sitting through a standard story, the juggling and the music are there to keep them engaged while the books stay front and center.

It's a Wednesday morning series, so you can pick the time that fits your schedule best. There are three separate sessions: 9:30 AM, 10:30 AM and 11:30 AM. All of them happen in the Children's Theater at the downtown Nashville Public Library, 615 Church St., so you can head in early or wait until the later slot. Each one is the same program—Library Pete, Dr. Ev and Mr. B singing, juggling and reading books for families—just at different times throughout the morning.
