One-off screening of the 1971 Mel Stuart film based on Roald Dahl's story, with discounted tickets for children under 13.
The Parkway Theater is bringing Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory to the big screen on Saturday, November 14, at 1 PM. It's a one-off showing of the 1971 film, so this is the only time it'll be playing there.
Based on the Roald Dahl story, the movie follows Charlie, a sweet boy from a poor family who dreams of finding one of five golden tickets hidden inside chocolate bar wrappers. That's the only way into the magical factory of the eccentric and reclusive Willy Wonka, played by Gene Wilder. One after another, the tickets are found by ghastly children, and Charlie hopes to discover the last remaining one and have all his dreams come true. It's directed by Mel Stuart and rated G, so it works as a family afternoon.
