Screening of the 1993 animated classic 'The Nightmare Before Christmas', directed by Henry Selick, at The Parkway Theater.
The Parkway Theater is screening The Nightmare Before Christmas on Saturday, October 31, 2026, at 1:00 PM. It's a stop-motion classic from 1993, directed by Henry Selick, and the timing is hard to miss: Halloween afternoon.
The story follows Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King of Halloween Town, who's grown bored with the same old tricks and treats. While wandering, he stumbles upon the magic of Christmas Town and decides to bring the holiday back to his own world. As his dream to fill Santa's shoes unravels, it's up to Sally, the rag doll who loves him, to stitch things back together. It's the kind of movie that works as well on a big screen as it does on a living room TV, and seeing it on Halloween day gives it a bit more weight.
Behind the scenes, the film is voiced by Chris Sarandon as Jack and Helena Bonham Carter as Sally. It's rated PG, and Common Sense Media puts it at 7+.
