Family movie pass with screenings of 'Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory', 'E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial' and 'The Wizard of Oz'.
The Parkway Theater is running a family movie pass this November, three classic films spread across three Saturdays in south Minneapolis. It's a bundle deal rather than a single ticket, so you're buying into a series of screenings rather than one afternoon.
The lineup is three of the big ones: Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (1971) on Saturday, November 14; E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial (1982) on Saturday, November 21; and The Wizard of Oz (1939) on Saturday, November 28. All three are general admission, and each one comes with a free bag of popcorn.
If you're not familiar with the venue, The Parkway Theater is a performing arts space and movie theater that screens vintage films alongside live performance. Its movie nights often pair a screening with pre-movie entertainment like DJ sets, burlesque, and trivia hosted by Jeff Pariseau, and it also presents the HUMP! Film Festival, which returns with a new collection of short films every fall. Over its 90-year history, the theater has brought generations together around arts and entertainment; after its first major restoration in four decades, it was reborn in 2018, once again showcasing classic 35mm prints and movie favorites, and it's since built a following as a Twin Cities destination for live music, comedy, and performance.

On the practical side, the movie pass is $24 for those 13 and up, and $18 for those under 13. With taxes and fees, that comes to $31.15 and $23.66 respectively. Sales for the pass end at 9 AM on Friday, November 13, so you'll want to grab yours before then. On the screening days, doors open at 12 PM and the films start at 1 PM. The theater is at 4814 Chicago Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55417.
