Community session facilitated by Tito Mogaji in which participants create a forward-looking mural, closing the Ideas Exchange season two.
Why We Create is the closing session of Ideas Exchange season two, taking place at the V&A East Storehouse on Sunday 14 March 2027. It's the final part of a six-month programme that invited the community to reflect on what the season made possible in creative practices, community building, and in thinking about why we make and create.
The session is facilitated by Tito Mogaji, founder of Nourishment, a community and cultural agency focused on connecting underrepresented communities with arts and culture. The afternoon starts with a look back: participants travel through a physical archive and a collective memory of what the community explored over the months. From there, the focus shifts forward, and the group creates a mural — a collaborative, physical document filled with the images, words, and ideas to carry into the future.
As part of the Ideas Exchange programme of interactive talks, the whole thing is documented through film, photography, and live artist interpretation. It's a session for anyone living, working, or studying in east London, aged 18 and over.
