Live concert by Tinie Tempah, the South London rapper and pioneer of UK rap, at the Roundhouse in Camden.
Tinie Tempah plays the Roundhouse on Thursday 3 December, with the show starting at 7pm. It's the London date of a four-stop tour that also hits Manchester, Leeds, Glasgow and Bristol.
If you've followed him from the start, you'll know the name Patrick Junior C. Okongwu. He's a South Londoner who first made his mark in 2006 with the underground debut single 'Wifey'. By 2010, he'd topped the UK charts with 'Pass Out' — a song about getting so out of it that you pass out — and in less than six months went from underground buzz artist to a bona fide pop phenomenon. He's since scored seven UK number one singles and picked up multiple BRIT, MOBO and BET Awards.
He's often described as a genre-defying icon and a pioneer of UK rap, and the work backs it up. He reshaped British music by fusing grime, hip-hop and electronic influences into chart-dominating anthems, and he's spent the years since expanding the blueprint for what British rap can be. He works as an artist, an entrepreneur and a cultural tastemaker, and this London show is one of four dates he's taking across the UK this run.
