Interactive two-hour workshop for 14-16 year olds to revise Romeo and Juliet through acting techniques and drama activities.
Shakespeare's Globe is running a Romeo and Juliet GCSE Revision Boost on Saturday 7 November, a two-hour practical session for 14-16 year olds studying the play. It's built for students to work through the text on their feet rather than over a desk, so it's one to keep in mind if you've got a teenager at home currently wrestling with the Capulets and Montagues.
The session starts with a peek inside the Globe Theatre itself, followed by a talk on the history of Shakespeare's London and the theatrical world he built around him. From there, the group moves into a rehearsal studio for an interactive workshop led by an education practitioner. That's where the real work happens: you'll explore the play's language, characters and themes through acting techniques and drama activities, getting a feel for how the lines actually land when they're spoken aloud. It's a practical way to get a grip on the text before exams roll around.
One thing worth noting is that the workshop is designed for young people attending independently, so it's a session for the students themselves rather than a family outing. While they're in the studio, parents and guardians can make use of the food and drinks on offer at the Globe, which means you can drop them off and find a spot nearby until they're finished. The whole thing runs for two hours, so it's a focused afternoon rather than a full day.

Tickets are £48, which includes a £3 order transaction fee. If money is a worry, there are bursaries available for anyone experiencing financial difficulties, so that's something to ask about if the cost is a barrier. The session is on 7 November at Shakespeare's Globe in London.
