Free Discovery Days Halloween half-term activity with a nature trail, feely boxes in the Witches' Den, bat facts and a spooky story for children aged 3 to 11.
Discovery Days: Hair raising Halloween runs from Tuesday 27 to Thursday 29 October at The Hyde Park Learning Centre, part of The Royal Parks' Spooky Season: Half-Term Fun programme. It's a free, educational holiday activity for families with children around 3 to 11, with sensory activities for the under-3s and more challenging ones for those over 11. The Discovery Days return each October half-term across the Royal Parks, running alongside the Nature Roadshows.
Inside, the children can explore feely boxes in the Witches' Den, follow a hair-raising nature trail, and learn about the bats of The Royal Parks. There's also a spooky story to listen to, and dressing up is encouraged. Storytelling sessions run at 12pm, 1pm and 2pm, so you can time your visit around one of those if that's what you're after.

The Hyde Park Learning Centre sits in the centre of Hyde Park but is well hidden, so it's worth giving yourself a bit of time to find it. Only assistance dogs are admitted, and there's a limit of three children per adult. It's free to enter, and it runs from 11am to 3:30pm, with the last entry at 3pm.
