Women-only pumpkin carving workshop led by resident carver Tania at The Bridge, a women's health and wellbeing charity in Southwark.
The Bridge is hosting a pumpkin carving workshop on Thursday 22 October, from 12 pm to 2 pm. It's a two-hour session led by resident pumpkin-carver Tania, who'll be on hand to guide you through the carving. The workshop is open to women only, and both the pumpkin and the carving tools are provided, though you're welcome to bring your own if you have a particular one in mind.
To get a sense of where this is happening, The Bridge is a women's health and wellbeing charity based in Southwark. It's been around for more than 90 years, and its whole focus is on creating inclusive, welcoming spaces for women of all identities to connect and thrive. That's a broad remit that shows up in a few different ways: there's a women-only gym, a community café, wellbeing programmes, and support groups. The common thread is the idea of women caring for themselves, supporting one another, and challenging injustices together.
This workshop fits right into that mix. It's run on the charity's pay-what-you-can model, which is how they keep their activities and events accessible to everyone regardless of what they can afford. So, you're not locked into a fixed price—you pay what you can, and that's it. It's a low-pressure way to spend a couple of hours on a Thursday afternoon, especially if you've never carved a pumpkin before and want someone to show you the ropes.
