Free drop-in afternoon making workshop for young creatives at the V&A South Kensington, led by artists Sebastian Chaumeton and Shanti Bell.
Offcut Afternoons are back at the V&A South Kensington on Saturday 31 October and Saturday 28 November, from 13:30 to 16:30. It's a free drop-in making workshop for young creatives, part of the museum's wider Young people programme of workshops, events and courses led by practitioners across art, design, fashion, digital media, craft, performance and architecture.
The sessions were designed by Adobe Creative Resident 2026 Shanti Bell and artist Sebastian Chaumeton, and they grow out of Woodworking Saturdays, the museum's free hands-on woodworking experience in which visitors craft objects like lampshades, picture frames, seats and stools with all materials and tools provided on site.
Chaumeton is a multidisciplinary artist and autodidact who up-cycles found materials into sculptures, delftware ceramics and mixed-medium paintings. He graduated from Chelsea College of Art in 2019 and has exhibited internationally, from London to Tokyo, Seoul, Taipei and Hong Kong. His work engages with internet culture and memes and their relation to art history, while also painting the theatre of the everyday.
