Immersive family theatre show by KIT Theatre in which the V&A becomes part of the story, with puzzles and hands-on making, delivered in English and British Sign Language.
KIT Theatre are bringing The Great Museum Adventure to the V&A South Kensington on Wednesday 28 and Thursday 29 October. It's an immersive family show delivered in both spoken English and British Sign Language, so it works for families with a BSL user as well as those without. The museum itself becomes part of the story: you follow clues, solve puzzles and meet surprising characters as you explore hidden corners of the V&A. It blends theatre, exploration and hands-on making, with a focus on creativity through recycled and reused materials inspired by the museum's collections.
It's part of the V&A's half-term festival, which runs from Monday 26 to Friday 30 October and fills the museum with drop-in design studios, a Design Baby session for toddlers and a Digital Kids wind play lab. The Great Museum Adventure is recommended for families with children aged 5 and over, and adults take part alongside their children — no child may be left unattended. Each performance lasts about 45 minutes.
