Free creative workshop led by Maryam Hashemi to work with plants, textiles, drawing, painting and stitching at the Horticulture Hub in Camden Town.
Nature Crafting is running at the Horticulture Hub on Tuesday 20 October, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. It's a creative, nature-based art programme led by arts practitioner Maryam Hashemi, and the session is free to join. If you can't make this one, there's another on Tuesday 27 October at the same time.
The sessions are all about working with plants, textiles, drawing, painting and stitching. It's a broad mix of materials to pull from, so you can lean into whatever takes your fancy—sketching, painting, or getting stuck into textiles and stitching. The idea is to learn and express yourself by working with things from the natural world, and since it's a programme rather than a one-off, you can come back and keep going.
The workshops are held at the Horticulture Hub on Hawley Road in Camden Town, which is run by the Castlehaven Community Association. Castlehaven is an award-winning community organisation that describes itself as providing safe, inclusive spaces and engaging activities for all ages and abilities. They hold NCVO Trusted Charity Status and a Green Care Quality Mark, and they run a health and wellbeing programme called Health Haven. The association's work is aimed at adults aged 18 and over, with a particular welcome to over-60s and to young people aged 18 to 25.
