Free intergenerational knitting and crochet gathering for beginners and experienced makers to share skills and stories.
Mandem & Nandem is back at Prince of Peckham on Monday 26 October, from 16:00 for four hours. It's an intergenerational knitting and crochet gathering built around the idea that creativity brings people together, and it's open to everyone from complete beginners to seasoned makers.
The whole thing is about people across generations sharing skills, swapping stories and learning from one another. It's as much about the chatting as the crafting — the kind of afternoon where you might find yourself picking up a new stitch from someone twice your age, or showing a younger maker a trick you've known for years. The organisers describe it as a welcoming space for everyone, and they're keen on keeping traditional craft skills alive while building new friendships and community in the process.
If you're coming along, you'll need to bring your own needles, hooks and yarn, so you're set to work on whatever project you've got on the go. Whether you're halfway through a jumper, starting a scarf, or just want to sit and crochet something small, it's a good spot to get some making done in company rather than on your own at home.
