Hands-on family workshop where children and adults explore Shakespeare's Macbeth through activities and games on the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse stage.
Shakespeare's Globe is running a Macbeth family workshop at the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse on Monday 26 October, aimed at children aged 9 to 11 and their grown-ups. It's a hands-on hour on one of the Globe's unique stages, where families work through a series of activities and games to bring the play to life. The session is led by the Globe's own practitioners — actors, teachers and directors — and you'll be doing it alongside other families rather than on your own.
The focus is on the play's language, characters and themes, so it's more about getting stuck into the text than just talking about it. The whole thing runs for one hour, and it's part of the theatre's Family Events programme, which opens up Shakespeare's plays to younger audiences through practical, creative work. If you've got kids who'd rather do something than sit and listen, this is exactly that kind of session.

On the practical side, you'll meet in the main foyer of the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse, which is part of the Globe complex at Bankside. Everyone over three needs a ticket, under-3s go free, and all under-18s have to be accompanied by a ticket-holding adult. Tickets are £15 each, with child and adult tickets costing the same, plus a £3 transaction fee per order. Your ticket also includes entry to the Globe's exhibition, though it doesn't cover a visit inside the Globe Theatre itself.
