Co-learning day for young people aged 18-25 from Lambeth on plants, urban greening and community organising at the South London Botanical Institute.
Green Futures: SEED is at The South London Botanical Institute on Thursday 5 November, running from 11am to 4pm. It's a one-day workshop that sits alongside the Institute's free courses for the Autumn term, so it's part of a wider season of plant-focused sessions rather than a standalone thing.
The day is run by the SLBI's co-learning space for young people aged 18-25 from Lambeth. It's built around shared knowledge and practical training in plants, urban greening and community organising, so the focus is as much on the people and the neighbourhood as it is on the botany. If you're in that age group and based in Lambeth, that's exactly who it's for.
These sessions for young people are free to attend, and travel costs can be supported if required. It's worth knowing where the workshop fits into the bigger picture there. The SLBI runs free courses throughout the Autumn term, and the SEED day runs alongside them. If you're looking to get more involved, annual membership at the Institute costs £25, with the option to add a donation and claim 25% Gift Aid if you're a UK taxpayer.
