Members-only workshop led by herbalist Kitty McEntee of Lab Tonica to bind a wreath from seasonal plants and herbs.
The National Gallery is hosting a festive wreath making workshop on Wednesday 2 December, run across two sessions: 11 am to 1 pm and 3 pm to 5 pm. It's held in the Supporters' House Salon, and the whole thing is led by Kitty McEntee, a herbalist and wellness coach who runs Lab Tonica.
It's a step-by-step introduction to wildcrafting, which McEntee describes as a pagan art. Over the course of the session, you'll bind your own wreath from sustainable, seasonal plants and herbs, and while you work, you'll try seasonal herbal remedies. It's as much about the plants themselves as it is about the making, so you'll walk away with something for your door and a bit of a primer on the herbal side of things.
McEntee's wellness brand, Lab Tonica, sells herbal products and runs experiential workshops and retreats. The client list there reads like a who's who of London's creative and heritage spaces: Soho House, Petersham Nurseries, the National Trust, and Westminster City Council have all worked with them. This session follows that same experiential format, with the making and the tasting running side by side.
