Free story session with author Jane Riordan to mark 100 years of Winnie-the-Pooh, with a drawing activity and book signing.
Jane Riordan is hosting a Winnie-the-Pooh story time at the British Library on Sunday 6 December, with two sessions to choose from: one at 11:15 and another at 13:30. Each one runs for an hour, so you can pick the time that fits your day best. The whole thing is held in the H M Weinrebe Learning Centre, inside the library at 96 Euston Road, NW1 2DB.
The session marks 100 years of Winnie-the-Pooh and his friends. Riordan takes the room on an adventure into the Hundred Acre Wood before showing families how to draw the bear of very little brain. It's a story time and a workshop in one, so there's something to listen to and something to do. After the session, you can buy a copy of her new book, Winnie-the-Pooh: A Little Boy and His Bear, and have it signed.
Riordan is a children's author who grew up next to the River Itchen, which she often paddled in, and now lives in London with her two boys. She's written several children's books, including Winnie-the-Pooh Tales from the Forest, Easter Hunt, Meets the King and Once There Was a Bear. This one is recommended for ages four and over, so it's a good fit for families with younger children.
