A day of conversations, readings and storytelling with writers on strange and uncanny fiction, hosted by Robin Ince, with a bookstall and book signings.
Tales of the Weird returns to the Pigott Theatre at the British Library on Saturday 31 October, the library's annual day for strange, uncanny and chilling fiction. It's been running as part of their programming for several years now, and this year Robin Ince hosts the whole thing. The day is built around conversations, readings and storytelling, with a bookstall and book signings running throughout.
The line-up starts with Ramsey Campbell in conversation with Jeremy Dyson, followed by sessions from Lucie McKnight Hardie, Oyinkan Braithwaite, Sarah Clegg and Sam Leith, and the Broken Veil podcast duo Will Maclean and Joel Morris. The day closes with storytelling read by Salena Godden and Steve Pemberton. Much of the DNA comes from the library's own collections: the Mervyn Peake archive is housed there, and the festival celebrates the creator of Gormenghast alongside contemporary horror and the uncanny.
