Hip-hop dance adaptation of A Christmas Carol by ZooNation, with Dannielle 'Rhimes' Lecointe as Ebony Scrooge.
ZooNation are bringing Ebony Scrooge back to Sadler's Wells East on Tuesday 24 November, where it runs through to 3 January. It's their hip hop take on Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, and it's returning to the same East London stage where it premiered in November 2025.
Instead of a Victorian counting house, the story centres on Ebony, a formidable Black fashion mogul who's cancelled Christmas to focus on her landmark fashion show. Three mystical visitors eventually take her on a journey that reconnects her with her Caribbean roots. The production blends hip hop, comedy and physical theatre, and it's recommended for ages seven and up, so it works as a family outing.
The show was created and choreographed by east London-born Dannielle 'Rhimes' Lecointe, ZooNation's Associate Artistic Director, who also performs the title role. The music is original, written by Michael 'Mikey J' Asante. ZooNation: The Kate Prince Company was founded by Kate Prince, and when the show first premiered at Sadler's Wells East, it picked up four stars from the Independent, the Guardian and the Telegraph.
