Dance-circus company Motionhouse brings its multimedia production Hidden, a blend of contemporary dance, circus and projections, to Sadler's Wells East.
Motionhouse bring Hidden to Sadler's Wells East from Tuesday 27 October, their first London stage since Nobody played the Peacock Theatre in 2021. It's a multimedia dance-circus piece that runs for one hour 50 minutes, including a 20-minute interval.
Motionhouse has been around since 1988, known for site-specific work that blends athletic physicality, digital imagery and emotive sound scores. Hidden continues that line, with contemporary dance melting into circus feats, acrobatics and physical theatre, set against a shape-shifting stage and groundbreaking projections. Artistic director Kevin Finnan describes it as a deeply personal exploration of light emerging from darkness in times of crisis.
The show premiered at Warwick Arts Centre in February 2025 and will tour regionally into 2027, so this run is part of a longer life on the road. Other Motionhouse work includes the outdoor shows WILD and BLOCK, and the family pieces Starchitects and HENGE.
