In-person drawing workshop for artists of all levels to build a regular sketchbook habit using mixed media, collage and mark-making techniques.
RuptureXIBIT is running a Develop Your Sketchbook Practice Workshop on Thursday 22 October, starting at 09:30. It's held in the front gallery studio at 55 High Street, Hampton Wick, KT1 4DG, and it's aimed at artists from beginners to those more established who want to build a regular sketchbook habit and find their own visual language.
The session is about getting your hands dirty. You'll experiment with mixed media grounds, collage, and various mark-making techniques, and you'll learn how to combine image and text on the page. Across the sessions, the subjects shift from landscape and still life to urban drawing, sculpture, and portraiture, working from both direct observation and photographic references. It's less about producing a finished piece and more about the process of keeping a sketchbook going.

All the materials are supplied, so you don't need to bring your own paints or collage scraps — the only thing you'll need to bring is a sketchbook of your own. The sessions are in-person and suitable for ages 12 and over, with adults and teens from 11 welcome, so it works as a morning out for a couple of different generations at once. Tickets are £30, and it kicks off at 09:30 on Thursday 22 October at RuptureXIBIT in Hampton Wick.
