Interactive workshop with ZooLab featuring scorpions, giant millipedes and tarantulas at Fulham Pier for Halloween.
Creepy Crawly Encounters is coming to Fulham Pier on Tuesday 28 October, as part of the venue's half-term run. It's an interactive workshop run by ZooLab, and the draw is exactly what the name suggests: you'll get up close with scorpions, giant millipedes, tarantulas and other creatures. They do warn that the animal line-up can vary, so you might not see every single one on the day, but the whole thing is built around getting a proper look at things you don't usually encounter in the wild in West London.
The workshop sits inside Halloween at the Pier, the venue's half-term escape which runs from 26 to 31 October. For those days, the pier is dressed in woodland decorations, and the creepy crawlies are just one of a few activities on the go. There are haunting silent discos, pumpkin carving workshops paired with cocktails, and daily trick-or-treats, with a mix of free and ticketed experiences running alongside each other throughout the week. If you're taking kids, it's easy to build a full day around it rather than just popping in for the one session.

On the day, the workshop runs in slots between 12pm and 3pm, so you can pick a time that fits your afternoon. Tickets are £8, and since it's an interactive session, it's more about getting involved than just watching from a distance. If you've got little ones who are into bugs, it's a straightforward way to spend a half-term afternoon.
