Workshop run by Fulham Palace gardeners to make a sustainable Christmas wreath from natural materials foraged in the Palace gardens.
Fulham Palace is running its Christmas wreath making workshop on Sunday 30 November and Monday 1 December, with two sessions each day: 9:45 am to 12:15 pm and 1:30 pm to 4:00 pm. Each one runs for two and a half hours, so you've got plenty of time to get your hands dirty without rushing it. It's for ages 16 and over.
The thing that sets this apart from your average craft class is where the materials come from. You build your own sustainable wreath using natural greenery foraged directly from the Palace gardens, and the session is run by the Palace's own gardening team. They bring both floristry training and a deep knowledge of the grounds to the table, and they'll guide you through the process from start to finish, so you'll walk away with something you actually made yourself. It's a popular annual fixture for them, and it's part of a wider run of Christmas events at the Palace.

If you're in the area, there's more to see and do around the site. A garden stall sells handcrafted wreaths, decorations and preserves made by the gardeners and volunteers, and local choirs perform carols in the Tudor courtyard. There's a Father Christmas visit to the historic library, and historian and lecturer Angela Platt leads a talk and tour about a Victorian Christmas. Your ticket for the workshop includes seasonal refreshments: complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits, plus a warming mug of mulled wine. Tickets start from £89, and the workshop is at Fulham Palace, Bishops Ave, SW6 6EA.
