Junior drama class for young people aged 8 to 16, with drama games, improvisation and character work led by BAP's Artistic Director Richard Reid.
BAP Theatre is running its Junior Drama Class at St Ann's Library on Cissbury Road in Tottenham, and it's open to anyone aged 8 to 16. It's a Saturday session, running from 12:00 to 14:00, and it's led by Richard Reid, BAP's Artistic Director.
What they're doing there is pretty straightforward: drama games, improvisation, character work and performance activities. It's a supportive space for young people to explore their creativity, build confidence and develop performance skills. The focus is as much on the social side as the acting — confidence, communication, teamwork and character development all sit alongside the actual acting techniques. It's designed to suit beginners just as much as those who've already had some experience, so it doesn't matter if your kid has never stepped foot on a stage or has been in a few school plays.
The class runs on Saturdays during term time, starting from 5 September 2026. If you're looking at the autumn stretch, there are sessions on 24 and 31 October, and then 7, 14 and 21 November. That's five Saturdays over two months, all at the same time and place. It's a good way to get them involved in something creative without it taking over the whole week.
