A hands-on queer zine-making workshop led by Ben Youdan and Jonathan Larkin, inspired by the play All The Devils, exploring kink and connection.
What's Your Pleasure? All The Devils Queer Zine-Making is at The Bluecoat on Sunday 22 November, from 11:00 am to 4:30 pm. It's a hands-on zine-making workshop led by artist Ben Youdan and writer Jonathan Larkin, and it's part of this year's Homotopia festival.
The session takes its cue from Larkin's play All The Devils, and the theme is kink and connection within the queer community. The idea is to contribute your own stories to a new zine about embodied pleasure — things like a favourite food, song or smell, or a memory that makes you blush. You can bring your own photos and artwork, or just use the imagery and materials provided on the day. No prior zine-making experience is needed, so you don't need to have ever touched a photocopier or a glue stick to get involved. The day is split between an introduction with queer stories and a production session where you actually put the pages together.
It's all part of Homotopia, the UK's longest-running LGBTQIA+ arts and culture festival, which has been running since 2004 and has spent more than twenty years championing courageous artists and creating spaces for queer stories to flourish across Liverpool. This year's programme, We Come Together, is framed by Executive Director Jayne Compton as an invitation to experience transformative art, to remember histories and imagine new futures. It runs from 17 October to 1 December 2026 across theatre, live art, comedy, club culture, film, workshops and public conversations.
