Weekly sushi-making class led by a YO! sushi master, with the option to eat or pack away your creations.
YO! Liverpool ONE is running a sushi making class on Wednesday 4 November, from 18:30 to 20:30. It's part of a wider run, with three other Wednesdays following on, so you've got a few dates to choose from if that one doesn't work.
The session is led by a YO! sushi master, and it's designed to take you through the basics from the ground up. You'll start with the history of sushi, then move on to the ingredients involved, and from there into the actual techniques: knife cutting and rolling. By the end, you'll have made your own rolls, and you can either eat them there or pack them away to take home. There's a vegetarian version too, so it works if you don't eat fish.
It's a bit of context on the place itself: YO! first landed in 1997, shaking up London's Soho with the 'kaiten' conveyor belt and the colour-coded dishes that became its trademark. Since then, it's grown to nearly 100 restaurants across the globe. The chain says it's been rolling sushi for over 20 years and describes its mission as creating a nation of sushi lovers. These weekly classes are their way of showing you how it's done rather than just serving it up.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Liverpool and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.

On the practical side, adults are £39.95 and under-16s are £29.95, with the same prices for the vegetarian option, and each place includes a soft drink. Under-16s have to be accompanied by an adult. The class runs from 18:30 to 20:30 at YO! Liverpool ONE, 14 Paradise St, L1 8JF, in the city centre.
