Free evening of live music by Tony Skeggs at The Cavern Pub on Mathew Street.
Tony Skeggs plays The Cavern Pub on Tuesday 3 November, part of the venue's regular run of free live music on Mathew Street. It's a solo set, with Skeggs taking the main slot for the evening.
If you're not familiar with the spot, The Cavern Pub is the third venue in the Cavern family, sitting directly opposite the world-famous Cavern Club on Liverpool's Mathew Street. It's open seven days a week from 11am, and the walls are lined with Cavern Club and rock memorabilia celebrating the artists and moments that helped shape popular music history. Every evening it stages free live performances by some of the best musicians in Liverpool, covering decades of music from The Beatles and Oasis to Led Zeppelin and Stevie Wonder. It also hosts the 'Monday Club', a weekly open-mic night for original artists fronted by local musician Ian Prowse of Pele and Amsterdam.

Skeggs' set on Tuesday falls into that daily rotation, and like the other nights, it's free to get in. The music runs from 7:30pm to 10:30pm, so it's a good length of a night if you're staying for the whole thing. With the pub open from 11am, you can easily make a proper evening of it and still be home at a reasonable hour.
