Free Sunday afternoon session of live music at The Cavern Pub on Mathew Street, with Symbolics (formerly Scallywag).
Symbolics are back at The Cavern Pub on Sunday 8 November, part of the pub's regular Sunday afternoon session. If you've seen them before, you might remember them as Scallywag — that's the name they've since left behind.
For those who haven't, it's worth knowing exactly where you're heading. The Cavern Pub is the sister venue to the legendary Cavern Club, standing on Mathew Street directly opposite it. It runs at a different pace from the main room: it's open seven days a week with free entry and live music every single evening. The Sunday afternoon session is a regular fixture of that weekly live programme, so this isn't a one-off — it's part of what the pub does every week.
Symbolics take the lead on the bill, with Gary Murphy, Tim Shaw and Rodimus also on the line-up. It's a session of live music from the pub's resident acts, so you'll be hearing the bands that call the place home rather than a touring act passing through for the night. If you're familiar with the pub's usual crowd, you'll know the sort of thing to expect: live music in a room that's open to anyone who wanders in off the street.

The session runs from 3:00pm to 4:45pm, so it's a mid-afternoon slot rather than a late one. Entry is free, and you'll find the pub on Mathew Street, right across from the Cavern Club.
