Free Saturday of live music at The Cavern Pub on Mathew Street with Jaie Lupton, The Amazing Kappa Band and Carbon.
The Cavern Pub has a full day of live music on Saturday 31 October, with three acts taking turns on the stage from mid-afternoon right through to the early hours. It's one of those long-haul days where you can drop in for a single set or stick around for the whole run.
Jaie Lupton kicks things off in the afternoon, playing from 3:00 to 4:45. After a short break, The Amazing Kappa Band take over for the main stretch of the day, with a five-hour set running from 5:00 to 10:00. And when they're done, Carbon keep it going late into the night, playing from 10:30 until 1:30. Between the three of them, there's over ten hours of live music on a single stage.
For those who haven't spent much time there, The Cavern Pub is the sister venue to the Cavern Club, standing on Mathew Street opposite the original club. It's open seven days a week with free entry and live music every day, and it's a casual live music bar that fills its rooms with music memorabilia. It hosts a string of resident fixtures across the week, including The Shakers' weekly Shaking Sunday Session and the Monday Club open-mic night hosted by local musician Ian Prowse of Pele and Amsterdam. The Cavern Club itself is billed as 'the most famous club in the world'.
