Two days of free, all-ages activities celebrating the Bluecoat archive and the people and stories that shaped the arts centre.
The Bluecoat is hosting its Bluecoat Family Weekend on Saturday 24 October, with activities running from 1pm to 4pm. It's a free session, and it's built around the Bluecoat archive — the collection of records, photos, and documents that track the arts centre's history. The whole thing is aimed at all ages, so it works as a family outing as much as a solo visit.
The weekend is part of the Archives Revealed programme from The National Archives, which opens up institutional archives to the public. The focus here is on the stories and the people that have shaped the Bluecoat over the years. Rather than just looking at a display, the session is designed around hands-on discovery, so you get to work through the archive yourself and piece together the history of the space from the inside.

It's a good way to see how the centre has changed over time, and since it's free and open to all ages, it's easy to drop in with kids or a group without worrying about tickets. The session runs from 1pm to 4pm on Saturday 24 October at The Bluecoat in Liverpool.
