Live-actor scare mazes, including the 18+ Hellfire Club, in the former Newsham Park Hospital, with street food and a bar in the courtyard.
Newsham Scream Park returns to the Newsham Park Orphanage and Asylum for 2026, with selected nights running from Saturday 3 October to Saturday 31 October. It's a complete redesign this year, with four new live-actor scare mazes replacing the old ones. The main event is for ages 14 and over, and under-18s need a responsible adult with them.
There's a good bit of ground to cover. SpecimenZ is a blackout maze, and Waxworks is built around a Victorian wax museum. Cut Throat Lane draws on the legend of Spring-Heeled Jack, a mysterious figure from Victorian folklore reported in Liverpool during the 19th century, and it involves being blindfolded. Then there's The Hellfire Club, an optional, strictly 18+ premium experience built around a secret society. Between the mazes, the central courtyard is taken over by street-food operator The Bus Yard, which brings in food, a bar and live music.
The venue itself does a lot of the heavy lifting. The park takes over the former Newsham Park Hospital, a Victorian complex that started as an orphanage before becoming a hospital and running for more than a century until it was demolished in 1973. The surviving architectural remnants are now a Grade II listed building, and its corridors, wards and staircases are turned into the live-action scare attractions. The surrounding Newsham Park adds two lakes and 121 acres of open space to the mix.
