Hands-on workshop for preschoolers to build their own tiny terrarium and learn about plants.
Little Sprouts is coming to the East Washington Branch of the Indianapolis Public Library on Wednesday, November 18, from 10:30 AM to 11:15 AM. It's a hands-on workshop for preschoolers, and the whole thing centers on one project: each child builds their own tiny terrarium. While they're working, they'll learn about plants together, so the kids leave with something they actually made and a little bit of knowledge about how it grows.
One practical tip the library gives is to dress to mess. Between the soil and the water, it's the kind of activity where things get a bit dirty, so you'll want your little one in clothes that can handle it. The session is made possible by the Everwise Foundation through gifts to The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation.
If you're already heading to the East Washington Branch, it's worth knowing what else they've got going on. They run a wide range of free programming for all ages, including drag story time across four branches, a Teen Zone, and other hands-on activities like 'Crafting Together' and 'Play & Learn with Gymboree.'
