Hands-on workshop for preschoolers at the Indianapolis Public Library to build their own tiny terrarium and learn about plants.
Little Sprouts is back at the East 38th Street Branch of the Indianapolis Public Library on Wednesday, October 28. It's a hands-on workshop for preschoolers, and this time around the little ones are building their own tiny terrariums. They'll get to grow and learn about plants together, so it's as much about the process as it is about what they take home.
One practical tip before you head out: the library suggests dressing to mess. Between the soil and the planting, things are bound to get a bit dirty, so you'll want your kid in something that can handle it. The session is made possible by the Everwise Foundation through gifts to The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation.
If you haven't spent much time at the East 38th Street Branch, it's a 16,000-square-foot building that opened in 2003. It replaced the Emerson Branch, which had been a 1957 frame house and closed that same year; a 7,500-square-foot branch had stood on the site since 1962. The current space is more than double that size, and it's where you'll find this one.
