Weekly Thursday morning storytime for caregivers and children up to five years old at the Wayne Branch Library.
Meet & Play is back at the Wayne Branch Library on Thursday, October 29, from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM. It's part of a storytime program that runs every Thursday morning at the branch, and it's aimed at caregivers and children up to five years of age. The library provides books, toys, and games for the session, and you're welcome to bring your own along if there's something your little one is particularly attached to.
If you're not familiar with the branch, it's located at 198 South Girls School Road in Indianapolis. The building has a bit of a history behind it: it first opened in December 1969 as a storefront in a shopping center at 7341 Rockville Road, and that storefront was enlarged in 1973. The current permanent building, 13,500 square feet, opened in 1984 and is where the branch still operates today.
In 2020, the library went through a $1.1 million renovation that added seating, activity space, study rooms, and a quiet reading area. Even with those updates, it kept its original split design, with separate wings for children and adults. That children's wing is where you'll find the storytime programs.
