Monthly fiber arts club where crafters knit, crochet or embroider while screening the film 'Practical Magic'.
Floss 'n' Goss is hosting a special session at the Central Library on Saturday, October 25, from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM. This one is a bit different from their usual meetup: they're pairing a movie screening with the making, so you can knit, crochet, or embroider while Practical Magic plays on the screen. The film is rated PG-13 and follows sisters Sally and Gillian Owens, born into a magical family, who are forced into hard magic after Gillian's boyfriend, Jimmy Angelov, dies unexpectedly.
If you haven't come across it before, Floss 'n' Goss is a monthly fiber arts club at the Indianapolis Public Library. It's open to crafters of all ages and skill levels, and the whole point is to gather and work on your current thready projects in a collaborative, supportive setting. The way they describe it is pretty simple: you bring your crafts, they bring the vibes. It's as much about the company as it is about the work.
This particular session is a departure from the norm. The club usually meets on the third Tuesday of every month in the library's Maker Space, but this one moves to a Saturday afternoon in the Clowes Auditorium on the second floor. Instead of just sitting and chatting, you'll have the movie running in the background, which is a nice way to keep your hands busy without needing to focus entirely on the conversation.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Indianapolis and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.

Registration is free, and it's a drop-in session, so you don't have to stay for the full two hours if you've only got a little time to spare. You'll find it at the Central Library, 40 East Saint Clair Street, Indianapolis, IN 46204, from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM.
