A vintage-inspired rug tufting workshop where participants create hand-tufted artisanal rugs using a vintage Halloween design, with costumes, snacks and spooky movies.
Habibi Bazaar is hosting a Vintage Halloween Workshop on Friday, October 30, from 6 to 9 PM at their Spring Street Studios in Houston. It's part of their regular series of rug-tufting workshops, and this one centers on a vintage Halloween design. You'll spend two to four hours working with the studio's tufting machines, frames, cloth, and a wide range of yarn colors, with instructors there to guide you through the process. Once you're done, the studio handles the professional finishing—gluing the backing, trimming, and shaving the pile—so the rug is ready to take home in three to four weeks.
It's a hands-on session, and you don't need to be an expert to jump in. Past attendees have described the instructors as welcoming, patient, and helpful, and a few have called it a great date-night activity. Costumes are encouraged, and BYOB is welcome, with Halloween snacks and spooky movies playing throughout the night. It's for ages 16 and over, or 11 and over with a guardian.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Houston and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.
