Space-themed holiday light show with immersive light displays and interactive experiences under the Boeing 747 at Space Center Houston.
Galaxy Lights returns to Space Center Houston on November 14, 2026, running through January 3, 2027. It's a space-themed light show that takes over the visitor center after dark, and this year marks its eighth edition. The whole thing is presented by Wellby Financial, the official credit union of Space Center Houston.
The main attraction is set up at Independence Plaza, right under the iconic 747 Boeing aircraft. From there, the center transforms into a galaxy wonderland with immersive light displays, interactive experiences, and surprises inspired by space. It's designed to bring space exploration to life alongside the holiday season, and it's become a Houston tradition for people who want something a bit different from the usual Christmas lights.
One thing to keep in mind is that your ticket includes access to the center's exhibitions, so you can see the regular displays during the day and the lights at night. However, the NASA Tram Tours and the Starship Gallery are closed during the event, so if those are on your must-see list, you'll want to plan for a separate visit. There are also Sensory-Friendly Nights offered for those who need a quieter experience.

It runs 6 PM to 10 PM daily, and you can buy tickets until 9 PM, so you've got a good window to get in. Tickets are $19.95 to $27.95 for guests over 3 years old, and children 3 and younger get in free. Popular dates tend to sell out quickly, so booking in advance is a good call.
